First Time Theatre is an initiative of Break a Leg Theatre. Community members who have never participated in any theatre were invited to join the First Time Theatre and undertake training and development in the skills and theory of the performing arts.

In 2009 two plays were selected and produced by Break a leg Theatre and every person in the First Time Theatre program had the opportunity to go onstage for the FIRST TIME. The first production COSI opened for two shows followed by THE GOLDEN LEGION OF CLEANING WOMEN for two shows a fortnight later.

First Time Theatre formed a part of Latrobe City Art’s public programs and is available in other locations accross Victoria.
